Cloud Analytics

Know Everything About Your Cloud Environment

Libero Cloud Analytics is a breakthrough technology that, for the first time ever, delivers sub-second latency analysis. It can do this anywhere in the stack from the core CPU processes up through application processes. Users tapping into Libero Cloud Analytics have the capability to spot and address process latencies long before they impact application delivery. That’s critical. Because at the end of the day, latency is the single metric you need to know in the cloud.

Most cloud analytics tools focus on measuring CPU utilization, disk share, network and memory I/O speeds, and compute cycles. None of these metrics can tell you what really matters – why your application is slow. An idle database server with low CPU utilization could mean your customers are getting a 404 message due to a problem with a Web server. But standard cloud analytics packages would interpret this as low traffic levels and not a real problem in your stack.

In contrast, Libero Cloud Analytics focuses on latency and not external metrics that can be misleading and hard to interpret. We use DTrace, an award-winning tool, to detect latencies in real-time on Libero Cloud SmartOS SmartMachines. (Linux SmartMachines also benefit from key Libero Cloud Analytics latency tracing capabilities). Libero Cloud Analytics can do this without requiring a reboot or slowing down production environments. What’s more, Libero Cloud Analytics works simultaneously across multiple SmartMachines. This provides broad root-cause analysis by allowing operators to see latency “smoke” via visual heatmaps. With these heatmaps, admins can quickly locate the offending virtual machine and isolate the exact process causing the slowdown.

Libero Cloud Analytics complements our dedicated Zeus load balancer. This powerful enterprise-grade cloud appliance provides detailed analytics to identify sources of latency at the network level. Because it is dedicated to your Libero Cloud environment, Zeus analytics show only your traffic rather than a portion of traffic in a public cloud. Contact us to hear more about how these powerful analytics tools can collectively provide unmatched latency analysis.
